CONCERT ENSEMBLE INFORMATION

All bands at CU are open to all CU students. Auditions begin the week before classes start. Please see the audition page for more information.

The Wind Symphony is comprised of the most outstanding wind, brass and percussion performers in the University. The group is dedicated to the performance of the finest wind repertoire regardless of the period or the disposition of the instrumental forces.

The Symphonic Band, an ensemble of approximately 70 musicians, is selected by audition from the finest performers on campus. Although most members are music majors, students studying in other fields often qualify for this ensemble.

For further details about JAZZ ENSEMBLES at CU, please visit the Jazz Department's web site.

The Concert Band, a sixty-five piece ensemble, is comprised of music majors as well as talented students from many other disciplines. Exploring traditional and contemporary works for band, the ensemble is known for its high level performance of quality literature. Concert Band meets spring semester only.

The Campus Band offers non-music majors an avenue to continue making music throughout their college careers. Rehearsing only one night a week, the goal of the Campus Band is to create maximum enjoyment with limited performance demands. Auditions are not required for members of this group, and instruments are available if needed.

For further audition information regarding any of these ensembles, please visit the audition page.
