2008 Audition Information

CU Guard Auditions will be held on Saturday August 16th 2008 in the IMIG Band Room on the CU Campus from 10am to around 1pm. Attendance is required in order to be considered for the guard.

What to wear/bring

Please wear comfortable dance clothing and dance shoes, and pull hair back. No big jewelry or earrings please.

Bring your own water bottle and a light snack, no need to bring any equipment, it will be provided.

Audition Requirements

Auditions will consist of two parts on 6ft flags:

1).The first part will be basics.  Those auditioning  will be required to perform cleanly , and judged  on:

Drop Spins (right and left)

Double Fast Spins (right and left)

Stops

Angle Exercises

Single Tosses (left and right)

Wind up tosses (left and right)

Horizontal singles (right)

*other tosses such as bombs, 45 degree tosses, backwards catches etc. may be introduced and it is recommended to know them, but not required ;)

2).The second part of the audition will consist of a short combination to music that will be taught at the audition, no need to prepare a piece. The combination will consist of fast paced work, spins and tosses.

Those auditioning will be judged on ability to do required basics and the combination, performance, willingness to learn, and general attitude.
