BUFF BASKETBALL BAND

The Basketball Band is a band of approximately 65-70 musicians that performs at home basketball games in the Coors Event Center and that travels to the Big XII Basketball Tournament and NCAA Tournaments. The Bball band is an auditioned ensemble. In addition, to become a member of this group you must be a current "Golden Buffalo" Marching Band member.

Auditions are held every October.

"GOLDEN BUFFALO" MARCHING BAND

The Golden Buffalo Marching Band is recognized as one of the premier college marching bands in the United States. Comprised of approximately 220 student musicians from throughout the country, the band remains an integral and exciting part of the tradition and spirit at the University of Colorado. The band utilizes an extremely versatile marching style and is consistently performs the latest in contemporary show design. The ensemble has appeared on national television many times and has performed in numerous NFL football games. The "Golden Buffalo" Marching Band most recently appeared at the 2002 Alamo Bowl, the 2002, 1995, and 1993 Fiesta Bowls, the 1998 Aloha Bowl, the 1996 Holiday Bowl, the 1996 Cotton Bowl, the 1991 Blockbuster Bowl, and the 1990 and 1989 Orange Bowls. While there is no audition requirement for the Marching Band wind sections, the drumline, colorguard and "Goldrush" danceline are selected by audition only.
